If you say you’re not a real bassist if you use a pick, you’re not a real bassist. A good bassist adjusts their playing technique to the style they’re playing. They change it to create different timbres, to make playing a certain riff more fluid, or even just for personal preference. Would you say the same thing to a drummer who used paintbrushes instead of sticks? No. So shut up.
